Doosan Generators Now Offer Intelligent Load Management System, or ILMS, as an option on its G190-G325 Tier 4 Final generators and the company has plans to offer this option to other generator models as well. This system is valuable because diesel generators that are equipped with Tier 4 Final engines need higher internal heat to complete diesel filter regeneration for Tier 4 compliance. Filter regeneration is an after treatment process that consumes particulates in the exhaust stream to meet emission standards. When generators are running in extremely cold temperatures or below rated capacity often they can’t produce adequate internal heat for this process. When there is a lack of heat, generator operators will often supplement by adding load or by using a conventional load bank which results in generator inefficiency.
Doosan’s Intelligent Load Management System (ILMS) solves this issue by creating additional heat within the exhaust system which produces higher temperatures for the regeneration process without limiting generator capacity or causing generator inefficiency. This is an internally packaged system that adds a small amount of load and applies the heat generated directly to the after treatment system. ILMS is extremely effective, more efficient than a load bank system, and more fuel efficient than other methods of adding supplemental load.
The Intelligent Load Management System option is currently available on Doosan’s G190, G240, and G325 generator models. All of Doosan Portable Power’s generators are designed for maximum fuel efficiency, reduced sound levels and ease of operation. Doosan generators are also equipped with an environmental containment system that will contain 110% of all generator contained fluids.
